Saturday, A trip to Morat, an overload of photos
by Jess
We got up insanely early on Saturday to start running errands for our wedding. First stop was the village of Morat, which is next to our Ceremony location, in order to meet with the florist. But before we could do that, before we could function, we needed breakfast.
I have decided that Morat, along with Solothurn, Thun is one of the best villages in Switzerland for a daytrip. So, I will now overload you with photos. We aren’t actually marrying here, but in a manor about five minutes away, but I am desperately trying to figure out if I can organize that the American guests visit and each lunch here before heading to the wedding. I think it would be a shame to miss if they come all this way!
What do you think – Would you mind if a bride insisted you go to a village in your wedding day clothes, visit and each lunch and then go to a 4 pm wedding down the street? It sounds silly, I know, but walking around in nice clothes doesnt please some, and there is no real way to go there, go back and change, it is too far.

I don’t think I would mind, if there were others! These photos are like out of a fairytale. I don’t think I would mind one bit!
Lovely! I LOVE Morat! I hear it is a great place to get married at !
Lovely shots! I MISS THE patisserie…hmmmmmmmmm
You should just tell them what you want them to do. People enjoy, or at least tolerate, being told what to do at a wedding. It’s their job as guests.
A beautiful place! I would not mind visiting such a village… I find it an original idea!
Cheers,
Rosa
What lovely photos!
Ummm, can I come visit you? Kidding, kidding, not kidding but kidding. I want to go there, some day, thank you very much. How do you bear the beauty?
Morat is a great little town. We stopped in there on the way back from Interlaken/Jungfrau in November. And picked up bread and some sweets at Monnier. We also had to send our guests to a cafe between the civil and church ceremony, and it was great! They got to discover a great bakery in a great town. Remember, it’s your day, you do what you want. .
Your guests would be foolish not to take the time to stroll through Morat… if the wedding is Sat, remember the sidewalks do roll up by 6 p.m.!
